Over the years a few pieces were bought by friends and family and treasured, but the addiction hadn't taken over as yet. In 2002 Amanda met her husband, who has encouraged her passion and indulged her spending until she has amassed a collection of over 1000 crystals in various forms. In 2007 she and a friend decided it was finally time they qualified in their chosen fields. They paid their fees and 'study night' was born. A year later, they both passed not just one qualification, but two each, working around work and home commitments and a wedding. Both ladies had done many taster courses, and used oils at home, but both wanted that professional qualification. With a pact to study once a week together, and to support each other, they began their year of hard study and dedication to a dream. One year later they both earned qualifications in aromatherapy after taking the advanced level study route and both passed an additional course too! And all while they worked and raised families! For her, aromatherapy relaxes her as much as the client! |

In 2005 I saw a leaflet in the local tack shop which caught my eye, a course for Reiki!, (I didn't know at that time that any one could be a healer), I booked a treatment with June Fulford a Reiki Master and was amazed that I could feel the heat and tingling of the energy coming from her hands, and decided straight away that I wanted to learn more and booked the 1st Degree Reiki course which allowed me to do self treatments and I practised on my family and our horses & dogs, we all responded well to the treatment and benefited us all greatly. I was therefore keen to complete my Second Degree Reiki the following year which enabled me to become a Practitioner. I am so pleased that I can now help people and animals benefit from this wonderful relaxing healing technique, and I am now so excited and pleased to be a part of Healing Angels Many thanks Amanda. My specialism was broadcast journalism and training people for the industry - a stressful, intense job with many pressures. After five years working in higer education, I had a life changing moment when I made the decsion that I no longer wanted to do it, but instead wanted to help others who suffered from stress and emotional issues. I feel I have an understanding of these things after having seen many people around me suffer with these problems and I too have felt what stress is like and how it affects you. Back in 1994, i walked into a little shop in Poole, Dorset near to where i lived, it was called over the rainbow. The shop was full of fairy ornaments, crystals, wiccan books etc. I have been interested in these subjects for many years and so enjoyed browsing through the different items. The lady behind the counter started talking to me and asked if i was a healer, I replied that I was not, she then carried on to tell me that she believed I was and told me to hold out my hand, to which I did and she placed hers about 6 inches above mine and asked if I could feel anything, I was confused as I could not understand why I was experiencing a tingling sensation, which turned out to be the healing energy. This lady, over the years taught me Reiki and I used it on my family and friends. Two years ago I moved up here and met my partner Cheryl, with the help and support of her I have trained to master level in Reiki and Seichim. Working as a Commercial Manager for a global manufacturer within the Kitchen and Bathroom Industry. I had a good salary with a company car and all the trimmings, however this had a price, long hours and nights away from home spending very little time with my family and horses. Whilst working at an exhibition at Earls Court, London I met two Americans, David and Craig who had flown over to assist with the sale of the companies products. They told me about a book called Celestial Prophesies they claimed it would change the way I viewed life. I read this book and all of the other books up-to the 10th insight. After this I never looked back gradually my life changed and I became more open to situations that I would never have been interested in before. My husband and I set up our own kitchen and bathroom business and In slowing down became more receptive to people with different ideas. In 2003 I met a lady called Moyra Bridges at the time I was suffering with Tennis elbow, she had bought her kitchen from my company and was very pleased one day when talking to her I complained about my elbow and she insisted that she have a look at it. I did not know she was a healer until then and using crystals and hands on healing she cured my Tennis Elbow in about 30 minutes I have never suffered with it since. A few months later a good friend of mine was working towards her Reiki level 2 and she offered free treatments for my horse. As I had already had a small amount of knowledge about Reiki from Moyra I was open to the treatments and soon started having them myself. My friend Sam Wakes then herself became a Reiki Master/Teacher and naturally my interest grew and Sam attuned me to Level 1 and 2. Early this year I became curious again I wanted to know more and sought to go onto Master level I chose this time to work with another Reiki Master/Teacher to take me to Advanced Master and Master/ Teacher level this was interesting as I learnt a different perspective to Reiki. In August my Husband drove past Healing Angels, and told me about the new centre. Instinctively I wanted to go down and meet these people to find out if there was a place for me to share with them. My journey began when my very spiritual aunt took me to my first mind, body & spirit fair and introduced me to my first crystals about 5 year ago! A Reiki practitioner at the fair helped me with a deep set knee injury, after experiencing what I had and the feeling of the Reiki energy I became hooked! Being a qualified animal behaviourist and canine behaviour specialist, I felt that the animals abilities to sense energy is so profound that holistic therapies would be incredible in the animal world! During my animal work I have been lucky to travel worldwide working with animals. One place being Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. It was in Australia (an amazingly spiritual place), were my eyes were truly opened to a new stress free, alternate & balanced way of living. It was in Dec 2008 when I decided to incorporate and learn Seichem-Reiki with a local lady called Andrea Waldon a lady with great spiritual talent. My intentions at first were for the animal world but through working with people I realised I had a raw talent and helped many with their problems, again I wanted to learn more! It was then were I met Jacqueline Molony shiatsu practitioner & therapist for people & horses and pioneer in shiatsu for dogs. For a year I have trained with her learning shiatsu for both people and dogs and in January 2010 I shall be practising here in Grimsby bringing this new therapy here!! In the meantime I felt it was time to move on to more modern techniques in the Reiki world and I received a repeated second lot of attunements by lady called Anne Whitehouse as I felt I needed a refresher. After several false starts and support from some very special friends, and of course her husband, she has created a place where the dream can grow. By welcoming other self-employed therapists to work through her centre she hopes the range of treatments will grow and the clients will love the atmosphere in Healing Angels and want to come back again and again. |
